An enemy Is someone who is actively against or is unfriendly toward someone.
When someone actively against you, they are actively resisting or refusing to comply.
The conflicting of an enemy is someone who is a partner or supporter.

According to the Bible, there are a few enemies. Satan is an enemy and those who oppose the Truth that Jesus is the Savior of the world. Death and friendship with the world are also enemies we face on this side of heaven. 

There is a specific verse about enemies related to being opposed because you told the truth. Have you ever corrected someone (out of love) just to have them turn on you? 

Satan
“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” – 1 Peter 5:8
Satan opposes God, God’s people, and God’s plans.

Death
“The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.” – 1 Corinthians 15:26
One day, there will be no more death, but on this side of heaven, death is an enemy.

Friendship with the World is an Enemy of God
“You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.” – James 4:4
The world opposes Jesus and the Truth of Scripture, living devoted to self, rather than devoted to God.

People Opposed to Christ
“For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ.” – Philippians 3:18
Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life- many reject that reality, therefore becoming an enemy of Jesus.

Truth Tellers
“Have I then become your enemy by telling you the truth?” – Galatians 4:16
Whether you are sharing the gospel or correcting someone with love, we can quickly become an enemy when the truth is rejected. Remember, when you share the truth and it is rejected, you may face opposition. Someone who may have been open-minded can quickly oppose the Truth (and you), becoming an enemy.
