![]() ...The Lord Calls Samuel 1 Samuel 3:1-11 The boy Samuel ministered before the Lord under Eli. In those days the word of the Lord was rare; there were not many visions. 2 One night Eli, whose eyes were becoming so weak that he could barely see, was lying down in his usual place. 3 The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the house of the Lord, where the ark of God was. 4 Then the Lord called Samuel. Samuel answered, “Here I am.” 5 And he ran to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.” But Eli said, “I did not call; go back and lie down.” So he went and lay down. 6 Again the Lord called, “Samuel!” And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.” “My son,” Eli said, “I did not call; go back and lie down.” 7 Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord: The word of the Lord had not yet been revealed to him. 8 A third time the Lord called, “Samuel!” And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.” Then Eli realized that the Lord was calling the boy. 9 So Eli told Samuel, “Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, ‘Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went and lay down in his place. 10 The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” Then Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening.” 11 And the Lord said to Samuel:... God is speaking and we have to get in a position to hear from Him. Notice Eli realized that the Lord was calling the boy. So Eli told Samuel, “Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, ‘Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.’” We got to get into a position so we can hear from the Lord. When you feel that tug than you know God is speaking. Many times our lives goes hundred miles per hour and we can miss Him through all the loudness, chaos and the busyness. Set a time, position your self to meet Him so He can speak. Many ways you can position your self to hear His voice. Get up early in the morning before everyone in the house wakes up or setting your alarm in the wee of the night while everyone asleep, another way is by using one of your break time at work going into your car or seating under a tree and wait for Him to speak. I remember many times I had put my self into position to hear from Him. Some times you have to get away from your familiar environment. I, one time set my weekends once a month rented a motel room got away from my town and stay in the room for the weekend did not get out threw a blanket on the tv and turn on some worship music and had my bible and spend my time with Jesus and I sure did hear from Him. A lot of times when I got off from work I would drive to the park and seat in my car with no radio and rolled down the window just to get fresh air and hear the birds and in those times I heard from the Lord. He also speaks through His word. Reading His word, you will be inspired because He speak to you through the Holy scriptures. When you make a date with Him, He will meet you and SPEAK.
